October 12 (or so)
Our last update was on Monday and is located in the calendar. Jeff will be modifying the site to include a November and December Calendar which we hope to update weekly.
For now, I will place the current update here....
We are home and doing well! The kids are doing great and McCale is sleeping through the night and eating like a mad man!! He polished off about 4 large cereal bowls of rice mix yesterday and had three bottle and juice. Needless to say, the diapers are moving out of here faster than ever!! We are considering cloth diapers for part of the time, we have to settle in a bit more before we can think of organizing anything like that yet.
Karleigh is doing well, she is our late night bird, just like me, or how I used to be at least. There is alot that goes on in the world at 4-5-6am, that I really never knew about. Thanks to her, Im really learning alot!! She is doing better and getting up only once a night now. Its so hard with their little clocks being exactly 12 hours off, day is night, night is day...and night is a great time to play on the floor, laugh, giggle, kick and squeel. Who could complain about this!!?
The first few nights were hard, especially since I believe a Similac bottle was squeezed in somewhere when we had not started the transition from Kaz formula. As Emil would say "Karleigh has a traffic jam" in her tummy. Im so happy to say that they are doing great on the Nestle top of the line formula, much less gas, spit up and more consistent diaper changes.
They are both such a happy little cooties, they laugh constantly and are becoming more mobile by the day. McCale does a mean imitation of our neighbor Sue when she makes a popping noise at him, Karleigh is starting to try and grab the spoon to shove it in her own mouth. (hair, ear, nose, etc). They are changing so much and so quickly. It's amazing!!!! I can't get over how comfortable they are here, with us, family, friends and the dogs. Molly and Jack gave them a big welcome! Molly still tries to steal kisses and truly believes they were brought here for her entertainment only. She sits nearby or on their blanket with them and keeps a watchful eye. Jack keeps a watchful eye on cookies that may fall! - All in all they are doing well.
Believe it or not, the cat "cootie" is warming up to the kids as well, Karleigh tried to get a big wet handful of her and she circled behind me, but didnt run. I can't believe how its all falling into place.
Ok, its not all pink and rosey all the time....sleep deprivation is getting ahold of us, Jeffs work kicked into high gear this week and he just has not been home as much as we had hoped. Im floundering around some with a kid under each arm some of the time and in most cases, I wear more formula than gets ingested. This reminds me of our first couple days with them in the apartment. Im hopeful we can find our groove soon!!
Today my Sister in Law and neices are coming over to help. It will be nice to give the kids a leisurely bath and be able to take care of a few small chores I have been putting off....a shower for instance. LOL.
We have been showered with gifts and kindness that just does not seem to be stopping!! Each day its been a new suprise from friends and family. I have, no kidding, at least 30 calls to return and unless you all want me to call you at 4am after Karleigh beds down, it might be a little while. I do want to say how much I appreciate your care and concern for us!! I love you all dearly!!
I do have to run now as the girls will be here soon and I need to put powder on myself or something....!!!! More soon!! Colene
