Well it is Sunday afternoon already, and we just got back from the baby house and finished having lunch in the apartment. Emil stopped on the way back so we could pick up some peroshki’s, (which is bread with potato or cabbage cooked inside) we also stopped by a small place that cooks bread over a fire. They make it with beef, cabbage and onions. And we thought we could lose some weight on this trip.. yea right. Not yet anyway.
Now for the kids… As you can see from the pics from today, we really have some bonding going on. Seems like they are really starting to warm up to us and getting used to feeding them. We fed them there daily bowl of mush for breakfast and a bottle of warm milk. McCale ate like crazy as usual and I got a good portion of it down his front. They make us use a regular spoon, so it is hard for them to get it all in. We will introduce them to the baby utensils of the present once they get to the apartment. We just need to do things the way the baby house aids do it while we are there or they get insulted. Karleigh ate well and neat as usual. Colene is going to make me feed her tomorrow so she can take a crack at feeding McCale. After breakfast we laid on the blanket with them to play a while. Karleigh is very laid back and likes to hang out and watch what is going on. She is not too mobile yet, even though she can move around. McCale on the other hand is always moving. He can quickly role over from his back and can pull himself up on his knees. I think he will be crawling very soon, with Karleigh to follow. I think once she see’s her brother moving around, she will try to keep up with him.
We stayed inside this whole visit as it was a little chilly out this morning. Also I was a little stiff, so it felt good to just stay on the floor. We tried to keep the kids closer to us today so they could bond a little better. We had them lay on us and held them up in the air and played with them for a while. Karleigh started drooling on me when I was holding her up over me. I quickly understood not to hold them over my face for to long. Colene was not as lucky as while she had McCale on her, he spit up.. It was pretty funny, and I told her that would teach her. And people think we brought wet wipes for the kids.. HA.
We spent a good 2hrs there and felt very relaxed with them, and I think they are opening up to us and also liked all the attention and closeness. Gulnara went over the feeding schedule with Colene, so now we have a good idea of how often they eat and sleep. Tomorrow we are going to bring the video camera, so when we come home, everyone can get a better idea of what the baby house is like. I am sure it is hard to tell from the pictures.
Now we are just back in the apartment to get things organized and ready for Wednesday when the kids come back with us. I am watching Colene go thru the duffle bags as I sit on the couch and type. Later we are going to walk down the street to a little store to see what kind of baby food and formula they have. I can see I will be buying a lot of it, so some place local would be good.
Well that’s all for now, I am going to take advantage of us being home early today and do a little resting on the couch and watch some TV, even thought it is not in English.
